Cypress Highlights: Posted an outstanding freshman season directing the Cypress offense. Earned all-Orange Empire Conference recognition as the Chargers finished tied for second place with Saddleback. In 14 OEC games, Imaku topped all conference players in assists (76, 5.4 apg) and steals (46, 3.3 spg). She also was No.8 in scoring (15.0 points per game)... For the season, Imaku averaged 14.0 points, 5.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds. She made 72 percent of the free throws (108-150). Saw action in 28 games, and started 26... Was at her best in the post-season, averaging 24.0 points in three Southern California Regional Playoff contests. In a second round 72-67 victory at Ventura she poured in 39 points, and pulled down nine rebounds. The win snapped the Pirates’ 19-game home playoff winning streak. In the first round, Imaku had 27 points and nine assists as Cypress topped host Los Angeles Valley, 74-65. Brittany has signed a letter of intent to play for San Jose State.
High School Highlights: Had a tremendous career at Artesia and Gahr high schools. Helped lead the Pioneers to consecutive CIF championships in her junior and senior years. In her final year, Imaku earned all-CIF recognition while averaging 10 points, six assists, six rebounds and three steals per game. … In the 2003 CIF finals she had a key steal to preserve the victory. … Artesia was unbeaten in league play both years. … Was an all-CIF selection in both her freshman and sophomore seasons at Gahr High School in Cerritos, averaging 20 points per contest in both seasons. Had a career-high of 32 points.
