Cypress takes down Riverside

Riverside, Calif. – The Chargers faced the 3rd ranked Tigers at Riverside and finished the game with their 14th win of the season beating Riverside 81-74. Sophomore forward Ana Fakatou stepped up to be the game high scorer with 23 points and added 7 rebounds.
The game was a tough back and forth match-up and ended up tied at 35 at halftime. The second half proved to be just as even for both teams until Cypress took the lead and held on to it. “It was a great game between two evenly matched teams,” said head coach Margaret Mohr, “we hit some big shots and grabbed some big rebounds down the stretch which made the difference”. Three more chargers ended up in double figures as Rosalyn Omoruyi hit 17, Mia Seagraves hit 18, and Brittany Imaku hit 14 while notching 9 assists.
The Chargers are 2-1 in the Orange Empire Conference and are tied with two other teams for 2nd with Fullerton in first. Cypress stays on the road Friday at Saddleback at 7:30 pm.
