Omoruyi’s 34 points lead Chargers to Fourth Conference Win

Cypress, Calif. – Cypress maintained their first place position in the Orange Empire Conference as they beat Orange Coast 74-61. The Chargers were led by sophomore forward Rosalyn Omoruyi who scored a season high 34 points while grabbing 15 rebounds for yet another double-double.

The Chargers got out early and never looked back. The Pirates were ranked 14th in the California Southern Region and 2nd in conference coming into Wednesday night’s game. The Cypress forwards dominated inside as freshman forward Ana Fakatou contributed 16 points and freshman forward Brianna James scored 10 points. Sophomore guard Mia Seagraves distributed and ended the night with 7 assists.

The Chargers are now tied for 1st place in the Orange Empire Conference with Fullerton with a record of 4-1. Cypress now takes their three game win streak into their game against Santa Ana at home Friday night. Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
