Chargers Start Quick to Earn Big Victory

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress held on to a big first half point margin for a win over Santa Ana 95-68. All the active players for Cypress scored for the Chargers including 5 in double-digits. Freshman forward Kishawn Battle more than doubled her season high in scoring with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The Chargers came out in the first 10 minutes of the game with a 30-7 lead. Cypress held on to the lead for a 27 point win. Sophomore captain Ana Fakatou scored 20 points in just 20 minutes to go with her 7 assists and 7 rebounds. Freshman guard Brae Butler chipped in with 12 and Anureet Dhaliwal added 11. Freshman forward Michelle Babin also hit a season high with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Cypress heads into the second round of conference play against rivals Fullerton. Cypress will head to Fullerton to face the 3rd place Hornets. Fullerton is just one game behind Cypress. Last time the two teams met earlier this season, the Chargers held on to their lead for the win 68-62. The teams will face off Friday evening at 5:30 pm at Fullerton.
