Chargers Begin a New Win Streak with Victory over Saddleback

Cypress, Calif. – The Lady Chargers went back to their winning ways with a 89-53 victory over the Gauchos. Freshman guard Ana Fakatou notched a double-double in just 27 minutes on the floor with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
This game came as a welcome bounce back after Riverside ended the Chargers' eight game win streak. Cypress came out early and kept extending their lead as they ended the first half with a 20 point lead and ended the game with a 36 point margin. Conference scoring leader Rosalyn Omoruyi had her seventh straight game with over 20 points as she scored 24 points on the night. Omoruyi's performance moved her to sixth on the school's single season scoring record. Five Chargers scored in double figures as sophomore guard Brittany Imaku had 14 points and 5 assists, and fellow guard Mia Seagraves put in 11 points and 7 assists. Freshman forward Brianna James notched 10 points.
The Chargers maintain their first place position in the Orange Empire Conference and will go on the road next to face Orange Coast College Friday at 5:30 pm at OCC.
