Cypress defeats Saddleback by 33

Mission Viejo, Calif. - The Chargers went into this game secure in their previous 59 point victory over Saddleback. The Chargers came out of this rematch with a 33 point victory winning 74 to 41. Freshman guard Corianne Felix came out shooting scoring 14 points with 4 assists.

The Chargers busted out quick starting the game with a 13-0 lead. The Charger defense wavered and Saddleback scored 21 over the next 15 minutes for a first half score of 44-21. Cypress then outscored the Gauchos by 10 to end the game with another large point margin victory. Sophomore forward Ana Fakatou led all scorers with 18 points and 9 rebounds blocking 2 shots. Freshman Marissa Bravo was the third player in double-digits with 12 points on the night.

The Chargers are headed into the last regular season game of the year and the most pivotal game thus far. Cypress must defeat Santa Ana away Friday in order to win the Orange Empire Conference Championship. This would be Coach Mohr’s first OEC title. Santa Ana is out for revenge from the Chargers’ surprise blowout earlier this season 95-68. The Dons are 8-6 in conference play in fourth place and are coming off of an 81-64 win over Fullerton. The teams will face off on Friday at 5:30 at Santa Ana.
