Santa Ana, Calif. – The Chargers struggle through the first half but break out in the second to beat the Dons 76-55. Sophomore forward Rosalyn Omoruyi led all scorers with 22 points in addition to her 10 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season.
After being down early in the first half, the Chargers turned it on to outrun Santa Ana. Despite a turnover ridden game and poor shooting, the Charger rebounding proved to be the difference as the Dons were outrebounded by 30 by the Chargers. Sophomore guard Brittany Imaku had 7 of those rebounds along with 15 points and 6 steals. Freshman forward Brianna James had a break out game as she had a game high 4 assists, and almost a double-double of her own with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Fellow freshman forward Ana Fakatou put in 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Cypress will take on Golden West Friday night at 5:30 at home for their conference closer. This will also be the Chargers' Sophomore Night.
