Cypress Reaches the Final Four with Victory over Delta

San Diego, Calif. – The Lady Chargers stretched their season another day as they upset Delta 68-56 to move on to the final four of the State Tournament. Sophomore floor leader Brittany Imaku paced the Chargers with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Chargers and Mustangs openned this year's state tournament with a tug-of-war game. The first half started tight with the Chargers pulling out a five point lead at halftime. The Chargers then held on and extended their lead to win by 12. Freshman Ana Fakatou matched Imaku's 19 points and added 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Mia Seagraves was the third Charger in double-digits as she ended the night with 16.
The Chargers will face 23-7 third seed Sierra tomorrow for a berth into the Championship game. Sierra upset Riverside College to enter the final four. The Chargers and Wolverines will face off at 5 pm on Saturday at University of San Diego's Jenny Craig Pavilion.
