San Diego, Calif. The Chargers pulled out another upset against Sierra College as they gutted out a 78-67 victory to earn a berth into the State Championship game. Freshman forward Ana Fakatou reached a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Chargers fought for a two point lead against the Wolverines before picking up their transition and defense to stretch their lead to 11 to end the game. It was a great victory for this team and the effort they put out, said head coach Margaret Mohr, it was a gutsy performance by the great-eight again. Sophomore captain Brittany Imaku put up her own double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds while dishing out 6 assists. Sophomore guard Mia Seagraves was the third Charger in double-digits with 12 points and 9 assists.
The chargers are now headed into the Championship game against 1st seed, 29-1 Pasadena College. The Chargers will contend for the Championship tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm at the University of San Diego's Jenny Craig Pavilion.
