Cupertino, Calif. – The Chargers went to the last round of tournament play Saturday to face L.A. Southwest for the Consolation bracket championship. The Chargers were able to eke out a narrow four point victory over the undermanned Cougars 46-42. Sophomore forward Michelle Babin paced Cypress with an impressive line at 6 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists.

Cypress struggled early adjusting to the face paced game with very few whistles and went into halftime down one 22-23. The Chargers struggled from the field in the first half going 8 for 42. The shooting did not improve much in the second half going 10 for 35 scoring 24 second half points but were able to hold the Cougars to 19 second half points in the low scoring affair. Just 19 fouls were called in the entire game.

Sophomore guard Brae Butler was the only Charger in double digits scoring with 12 in addition to 5 steals. Sophomore forward Brandi Thomas led Cypress inside with 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Corianne Felix had an all-around game scoring 9 points with 5 assists, 5 steals, and 5 rebounds and earned herself a spot on the all-tournament team.
