Chargers Earn the Merced Tournament Consolation Championship

Merced, Calif. – The Chargers had another team effort to earn their second win of the season to beat Sacramento City 77-65. Sophomore guard Mia Seagraves contributed in every category with 10 points, 7 assists, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Sophomore Rosalyn Omoruyi closed out her run in the tournament with 19 points and 11 boards. Omoruyi was also awarded with all-tournament team honors after averaging 25 points in 3 games.

Sacramento City did not have the weapons to stop the Charger’s collected effort. For the second game in a row, four Cypress players were in double figures. Freshman forward Ana Fakatou had her second double-double in a row with 16 points and 12 rebounds while sophomore guard Brittany Imaku tallied 10 points and 6 assists. Sophomore guard Ruta Autele contributed 8 points and 5 assists.

Cypress will return home to prepare for Cerritos in their home opener on November 24th.
