Cypress Bench Steps Up to Beat Citrus

Glendora, Calif. - Cypress came out to an early lead against and never looked back to beat Citrus 73-52. This was the second day for Cypress at the Citrus Crossover where the Chargers earned two wins. 11 Chargers contributed to scoring and were led by freshman guard Brae Butler who came off the bench to score 14 points and grab 9 rebounds.
Cypress came out early scoring points off of steals and ended the first half with a 44-25 lead. The lead gave Cypress a chance to play all 14 active players. Freshmen guard Anureet Dhaliwal added offensive punch with 11 points. Freshman point guard Corianne Felix added 10 points along with her 4 assists and 3 steals. Freshmen forwards Sheila Ho-Ching and Brandi Thomas came off the bench to combine for 15 points. The Chargers won without the leading scorer Ana Fakatou who will be back for the next game against Cerritos.
Cypress will next face cross-town rivals Cerritos College. Cerritos is 1-4. The teams will face off Wednesday night at 6:30 at Cerritos College.
