Cypress Starts Lady Charger Classic with a Win

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress started the Lady Charger Classic with a win over Rio Hondo 73-61. The Chargers had another productive second half outscoring the Road Runners 43-30. Sophomore captain Ana Fakatou produced her fourth double-double of the season with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
The Chargers struggled to separate from 18th ranked Rio Hondo as the teams were tied at 30 at half. Scoring was bolstered by freshman forward Sheila Ho-Ching's 10 points going 4 for 5 from the field. Freshman Brae Butler added 9 points and 3 steals while freshman point guard Corianne Felix scored 9 points and dished 4 assists.
Cypress will continue their goal of defending the Lady Charger Classic championship Saturday at 8:00 pm against West Los Angeles who beat American River College to enter the Semifinal round. Lady Charger Classic bracket.
