Lady Chargers Earn Second Straight Lady Charger Classic Championship

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress charged out of the gates early and held on to the lead with winning 70-55. The Charger's 48 first half points outscored East L.A. by 18. Freshman guard Brae Butler went 55% from the field with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
The Charger's first half lead was enough to win as their scoring cooled to 22 points in the second half. Sophomore forward Ana Fakatou led all scorers with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Freshman guard Corianne Felix scored in double digits for the second game in a row and neared a double-double with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Freshman forwards Sheila Ho-Ching and Brandi Thomas scored 9 points each combining for 11 rebounds.
This is Cypress's second straight Lady Charger Classic tournament. Besides earning the championship for the 22nd annual tournament, three chargers earned all-tournament honors. Felix and Ho-Ching earned all-tournament team honors while Fakatou earned tournament MVP. Lady Charger Classic bracket.
The Lady Chargers will take a break for finals and prepare to face 20th ranked Canyons Tuesday December 13th at 6:00 pm at home.
