Lady Chargers beat Napa Valley to Move on to Winner’s Bracket

Los Altos Hills, Calif. – The Chargers forced a fast paced game to beat Napa Valley 72-54. Freshman guard Nakeyia Washington sparked the team with her defensive efforts with 8 steals and contributed on the offensive side with 12 points. “I thought our bench really gave us a huge lift gave us the punch to beat Napa,” said head coach Margaret Mohr.

Sophomore forward Rosalyn Omoruyi was the team high scorer with 21 while freshman forward Ana Fakatou added 12 points. Sophomore guard Brittany Imaku added 9 assists for the third game in a row while putting up 10 points.

This was the first round game for the Chargers at the 16 team Mike Gervasoni Memorial Classic tournament. The Chargers now advance to the second round for a rematch with 15th ranked Porterville. Porterville’s only loss this season is attributed to Cypress at the Lady Charger Classic. The rematch will take place Tuesday December 28th at 4:00 pm at Foothill College.
